Three Concurrent Exhibitions to Feature Ten Themed Business Matching Sessions Precisely Connecting Businesses with Portuguese- and Spanish-Speaking Markets and Technology and Innovation Co-operation
MACAU, October 9 - Building on Macao’s unique advantages as a platform between China and Portuguese- and Spanish-speaking countries and as a regional economic and trade hub, the Commerce and Investment Promotion Institute (IPIM) will concurrently hold the 31st Macao International Trade & Investment Fair (31st MIF), the 2026 Portuguese Speaking Countries Products and Services Exhibition (Macao) (2026PLPEX), and the Macao Franchise Expo 2026 (2026MFE) at the same venue from 21 to 24 October (Wednesday to Saturday), featuring a total of ten themed business matching events. Focusing on featured products from Portuguese- and Spanish-speaking countries, Big Health, technological innovation, first-store and brand co-operation, agriculture, food and beverages, cross-border e-commerce, and cross-sector IP collaborations, among other themes, the sessions will attract investment through exhibitions and facilitate high-quality co-operation across multiple sectors.
Ten themed business matching sessions connect participants with listed and leading enterprises to support global expansion and project implementation
This year, the three exhibitions share the theme “Macao: The Global Hub of Business Convergence”. Among the ten themed business matching sessions, a Spanish-Speaking Countries Special Products Business Matching Session will be held to further strengthen the functions of Macao’s platform between China and Portuguese- and Spanish-speaking countries. Bringing together exhibitors from Spanish-speaking countries, the session will connect them with buyers and trade visitors from the Chinese mainland and Macao in the catering, alcoholic beverages, coffee, and agricultural products sectors, broadening supply and demand channels and tapping the potential of international markets, including Spanish-speaking countries. The China-Portuguese-speaking Countries Agricultural Industry Chain Co-operation Forum and Business Matching Session will deepen agricultural exchanges and co-operation between China and Portuguese-speaking countries, with discussions and business matching focusing on areas such as cultivation technologies and agricultural product processing.
In response to the practical needs of enterprises seeking global expansion and cross-border co-operation, this year’s Big Health Industry Going Global Business Matching Session will further expand its business matching channels with overseas markets, including Portuguese-speaking countries and Southeast Asia. In addition, the First-Store Economy and Brand Investment Business Matching Session will help enterprises capitalise on opportunities arising from the development of Macao’s first-store economy.
Representatives of listed enterprises, renowned brands, business associations and chambers of commerce from the Chinese mainland, Portuguese- and Spanish-speaking countries, Southeast Asian countries and other markets will be invited to attend, providing participating enterprises and trade visitors with opportunities for business negotiations, facilitating project implementation and fostering long-term co-operation.
Leveraging Macao’s unique advantages to build an effective platform for business opportunities
The three exhibitions will continue to leverage Macao’s unique advantages to provide exhibitors and participants from around the world with an effective business platform for matching market supply and demand and expanding into international markets. Last year, the exhibitions facilitated several concrete co-operation projects, including a Chinese mainland smart equipment enterprise successfully establishing regular exchange channels with Portuguese-speaking countries on topics including the low-altitude economy and airworthiness certification for manned aircraft; a bakery brand reaching a co-operation agreement with a Chinese mainland enterprise in the cultural and creative sector through the exhibitions and preparing to establish a company in Macao; and, during the three exhibitions, an enterprise from a Spanish-speaking country reaching an agreement with a Chinese mainland biotechnology company to jointly establish a nutrition supplement brand. These cases demonstrate the effectiveness of Macao’s role as a platform between China and Portuguese- and Spanish-speaking countries in facilitating industry-academia-research co-operation, brand establishment and market expansion.
